New LTV vacancy in Kazan

Dear friends, we are happy to announce our new vacancy for a long-term volunteer in Kazan. The project is about promotion of volunteering and includes a lot of interaction with locals and amazing new experiences discovering the 1000-year-old city and it’s culture. “Promotion of volunteering in Kazan”

Start/End/Duration: This is a permanent project, so we are flexible with the dates. The volunteer can come as soon as he/she has the visa. Minimum stay 3 months.

Project description:

Sodrujestvo is a non-government organization working in the field of intercultural communication and education, making international long-term and short-term projects for students and school children on the topics of intercultural diversity, non-violence, tolerance, global issues, and foreign languages. Our organization is based in Cheboksary, Russia. 1, 5 years ago we started a branch in the city of Kazan. This is a big and fast-developing city with unique history and culture. Volunteer will be helping to develop our branch in Kazan, bringing international spirit to the 1000-year-old city. There will be a lot of work on promoting volunteering among young people and it will be interesting.

Work:

—          Promotion of volunteering by making presentations in schools and universities about international voluntary movement, giving away flyers, making posters and organizing other activities

—          Making presentations about his/her home country

—          Organizing clubs of intercultural communication, English-speaking clubs, clubs of speaking volunteer’s native language at schools and universities

—          Assisting at the lessons of foreign languages at schools and universities

—          Helping in the office of the organization, communicating with visitors, answering e-mails

—          Participating in the project organized by Sodrujestvo (including summer camps for school kids in Cheboksary)

Requirements:

Motivation to work in the area of interculturality; interest to Russia, Russian language and culture; good knowledge of English; knowledge of other languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish etc.) is welcome; Knowledge of Russian would be useful, too.

We would also like the volunteer to have the experience in international and/or voluntary projects and to be not younger than 20 and not older than 35.

Certificate of good conduct is required.

Accommodation:

Provided in the flat of a local volunteer or in a dormitory room.

Food: 100 euro/ month

Pocket money: 100 euro/month

Insurance: please, bring your own insurance

Fees: none

Visa: volunteers from most of the countries will need visa for coming to Russia. Sodrujestvo will provide the invitation letter and everything that would be needed in order to receive the visa.

Others: motivation letter is required.
